The year that just went by.

As compared to previous years, the year 2012 has been quite a handful, with its fair share of troubles, headaches, pain and of course, happiness and love.

With so many friends have gotten engaged, married and started having babies, Umi has started pressuring me into finding someone and get married, or engaged at least. Now, that is something I haven't had up until now. Heck, it was quite difficult into finding answers to all of her questions, and thank God I am still studying, which is the best legitimate excuse I can find. Not entirely sure the same excuse could save me this year though. :V

Some may say that I was being too hard on myself. I may be so, but if it is what it takes to compensate the lousy choice I made, then what else do I have left? It has come to my realization that the only way I can ensure a good future is by living a good present, utilizing whatever things I have and making the most out of them. It is no longer my choice, I'm afraid. In my case, the efforts are no longer taken into account, it's all the results that matter, the actual success, which appear to be very few and far between.

The year that just went by made me to understand that someone and/or something aren't worth the effort anymore. And that certain things need to be put to an end. Somehow I think we really should know what we are worth, and try not to settle for anyone who doesn't know. Like seriously. Words shouldn't get us to be all that impressed, for they are just words, uttered to please, getting hopes up high, but oftentimes they are just deceiving, totally derailing us from the reality.

Had I not gone through all these times, I wouldn't have known certain people whom I began to value now. This year, some of them are going to leave, pursuing different paths and it sorta leave me in the dark just to think about it. Yeah, I am that dependent when it comes to certain people, for they know what I need to endure all these while. It is not that I don't trust other people. It is just that it is too tiring to repeat the same thing every single day, it is pointless to whine on the same thing without being able to do anything about it even if I tried to. If it is exhausting for me just to talk about it, why wouldn't it be so for the people having to listen to me every single day? Having these thoughts, I chose to bottle up the feelings I have and somehow it has left me a total wreck.

I may not have expressed myself enough and sometimes, if not most of the times, I appear not to care at all. But believe me when I say I am thankful for all the warmth and kindness I have received so far. There are things I know I can't afford to repay and thank you guys enough, so I hope that all of you know how grateful I am for your presence.

2012 has also prove that fairy tales do exist. I don't need to say anything further, do I? :)

There are few things I've realized along the way, and perhaps I should make some changes for the upcoming days. Write a better story and be a better me, that is. :)

.Syawal.

It's Hari Raya again!^^

The failed ketupat and one of the few I managed to anyam in the lab. :D

Nothing much happened though.
And this time, it felt like something was missing.
Something that wasn't right.
I really have no idea though.
Probably it was because some people are being invisible, or at least pretending to be one.
Or it was because not that many friends are back in kampung for they are already working on the third day of Syawal.
And probably because the world revolves around the sun, and not me. :P

The person I owe my whole life to.

Oh well. Whatever it is, I still had a good time though. :)

Managed to meet up with several friends is good enough, considering everyone is tight on their schedule.
Everyone is now working except me and very few others, hence all the reason why I am under pressure.
For a moment, they managed to get me very doubtful on the path I have chosen. Stupid me. :(

Nevertheless, seeing Umai, Yumna and Aza and the rest has brought back so many memories. Finally we had a chance to visit KY, but too bad she's already going back to KL. :(

Besties for life.

Oh, I've realized one thing.
People would rather stay at home, sat in front of their laptops or ipads or whatever must-have lifestyle products they have than visiting people and hanging out with friends.
It pissed me off especially when my siblings are like that as well. ==''
For God's sake, if it is not now, when are you going to spend your time with your friends?
The same thing during gatherings.
Rather than chit chatting, people would prefer sneaking a look at their smartphones.
You finally had a chance to gather around a table, and yet you opt for your phones? Like seriously? ==''
Call me lame, old or whatever..I just don't get it. Really. Because for me, it is frightening how these lifestyle gadgets have the ability to steal people's attention and makes the reality or people they are with become less interesting.
Oh, I guess I really am old for thinking this way. *sigh*

Talking about how old I've become, there's always that one topic brought up in conversations, especially among friends.
Most people are having a difficult time seeing from my point of view, hence prompted me to make up some lame excuses. Haha.
For those who really understand, I would like to thank you.
For your understanding, for being supportive, for being there all this while, in the midst of confusion.

This Syawal was probably the weirdest so far.
Some unexpected things had happened by which for once, I don't even know how to respond to.

For a Hari Raya with nothing much happening, this is quite a lengthy post. HAHA.

You said I am missing someone. But I think it is more like a habit.
We will feel that something is missing once it is gone.
Sometimes, it is not even that empty feelings.
Sometimes it is just an excuse when we can't seem to stop the habit once it gets into our routine.

Being independent.

"Now you asked me to stop being choosy, all for the reason that I'm now 23. Isn't it a reason enough for me to be choosier? If I'm looking for someone to settle down, I sure as hell want to make sure he's the right one. I believe that marriage is until death do us apart.Yes, I'm a crazy romantic...and for that I don't want to end up with the wrong one."

^Super love this..and you too, babe! :)
